Miles Grussing claimed victory in this year’s highly competitive American Legion Oratorical Contest, sponsored by the Department of France. Since 1938, the Legion has organized the contest to encourage high school students to deepen their understanding of the U.S. Constitution. Contestants must write and deliver an 8-to-10-minute speech on an aspect of the Constitution, followed by a 3- to 5-minute speech on one of four randomly assigned topics, with the specific topic revealed only at the competition.

DoDEA Europe is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MoMC) across 64 schools in 8 countries, shining a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and courage of military-connected children. This month, our schools are hosting a wide range of events that include clap-ins, purple shirt days, interactive activities, performances by school bands, and more — all aimed at recognizing the vital role military children play in supporting their families and communities.

DoDEA Europe has successfully integrated wristwatch heart rate monitor (HRM) technology into high school physical education (PE) classes across Europe. This initiative highlights a strong collaboration among IT specialists, educational technologists (ETs), instructional systems specialists (ISS), and teacher support networks through job-alike Focus Collaboration Time (FCT).

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program is a tri-service (U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force) sponsored STEM competition which promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement.
